The Week of Respect is celebrated across the state of New Jersey October 5 – 9th. In fact, October is also identified as National Bullying Awareness Month. As we educate Campbell students about the importance of diversity and inclusion, it is also important that we educate families on New Jersey’s bullying laws and Metuchen’s HIB (harassment, intimidation, and bullying) policy. In order for an incident to be considered HIB, the behavior MUST BE MOTIVATED by an actual or perceived characteristic such as race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental/physical/sensory disability, or any other distinguishing characteristic.
