Advanced Placement (AP) Program

(Tue Mar, 6 2018)

The AP Program at Metuchen High School provides students an opportunity to increase the challenge of their program of studies, both in high school and in college. In addition to the intensified study of a given discipline, the AP Program includes the administration of College Board AP examinations in May of each year. Students who participate in the program, and take the examinations, are candidates for college credit and/or advanced placement earned in high school courses. More than 1,700 colleges currently participate in the AP Program. To reflect the rigorous nature of the AP courses, a +1.0 point grade differential is applied when calculating the weighted GPA.
