Rick Cohen, Assistant Superintendent, presented the 8 Year STEM Plan at the July 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting.
Homework is recognized as an appropriate and valid academic activity when it is assigned within appropriate pedagogical guidelines that recognize the needs of the whole child. Homework is considered any assignment that is to be completed by students outside of the normal class schedule.

High school students in New Jersey learned an important lesson Wednesday from a former child slave. He traveled to the US from Ghana not just to share his story, but also to see the man who helped save his life.

Winners of the last two NJSIAA Group 1 girls cross country championships, Metuchen stepped up in class this school year, moving up to Group 2.
At the end of last Saturday’s NJSIAA cross country sectionals, there was little drama for the South Brunswick girls team, which rolled to a Central Group IV title for the first time in 10 seasons. But for the Metuchen girls team, boy, there were loads of number crunching and finger crossing.
Kelli Holleran has been coaching Metuchen High School in girls’ cross-country for 13 years.

And her teams have had a lot of success.
Metuchen celebrates after defeating Old Bridge 2-1 to win the GMC field hockey finals between Metuchen and Old Bridge at East Brunswick High School in East Brunswick, NJ.
At the start of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, the Metuchen High School field hockey team knew it was the team to beat.
With 80 percent of careers growing in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), school officials are moving forward with an eight-year STEM action program to provide a path for students in the district.
