Weekly PARCC Resource for Teachers or Parents  As done a few years ago with the arrival of the Common Core State Standards, I will be sending a weekly email with a resource of interest/use for all educators, students and parents. The hope is that the resources either provide new information about PARCC and or provides a resource teachers can use with their students to help them be most successful on the new assessment. Whether you are an educator or a parent, we are confident you will find each resource helpful in being an informed person about PARCC.
 State Reports and Testing
What are the Common Core State Standards?  Look here for Mr. Cohen's weekly email communication on Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Communication 1 is Mr. Cohen's first email on CCSS.
Common Core Problem Solving Process Pilot  The central concept behind the Common Core Problem Solving Process Curriculum and Pilot is that there are six core academic cognitive processes and academic problem solving skills within CCSS which teachers "have to teach", that directly correlate to six social cognitive processes and social problem solving skills that teachers "believe are most beneficial to teach".
NJDOE Assessment Information for Parents  These documents answer questions commonly asked by parents or guardians of students who will participate in the NJ ASK and HSPA statewide assessment exams and the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
Program of Studies Course Outlines  The Office of Curriculum and Instruction continues to place pdf files of course outlines on its website.
World Language Task Force  The district established a World Language Task Force 2012 to evaluate its language course offerings to make sure the district will meet the needs of our students in the 21st century.
